My sister-in-law just returned from a trip overseas-she got to see the ruins in Greece and the window of frozen time that is Pompeii. She said it was nothing like she imagined. Greece was amazingly profound and Pompeii heartbreaking, eerie and overwhelming.
It got me thinking about all of the world wonders-from the large (Pyramids, Stonehenge, Great Wall of China) to the small (ancient pottery, scrolls, cave paintings).
What do we have now that is built to last that will still be here in just one thousand years? (Besides styrofoam cups and plastic supermarket bags!)
What will the future think of us? What from our time (20th/2st centuries) will still be around for tourists to care enough to visit in the year 3008?
Till next time,
